I finished off my favorite cereal this morning. Sad. We learned more numbers in French today. Their system for counting makes no sense. Our Western Heritage lasted 1,000 years and by that I mean an hour and 10 minutes. It was too long though. Those seats are not that comfortable. We learned about Rome. During chapel we sang a song that we all kind of just learned. It turned out to be really beautiful though. Lunch was a beef stew. The meat was tender and the carrots and potatoes were cooked just right. It was a great stew. After lunch, I went upstairs to study. I have a Bible and Our Western Heritage test tomorrow. So I had a lot of studying to do. We were supposed to have a day trip tomorrow but it was moved to Tuesday so our test was moved up and it is just all craziness. I was falling asleep while studying, but we had a Skype session with our French teacher at 3, so I was determined to make it until after that. I wrote down a lot of dates and went through all my notes but at about 20 minutes until 3, I couldn't take it anymore. I was studying on a couch so I just laid down and took like a 10 minute nap. I felt better after that. At least awake enough to speak some French. We just had to introduce ourselves again, and then answer a question in French. Pretty simple. I studied some more for Bible after that and then at about an hour until dinner, I took a longer nap. I slept for about 30 minutes. We had the Mexican works for dinner. After dinner, I went back upstairs to study some more. At this point, I was ready to just wing this stuff. I was about to go take a shower when Claire couldn't take it anymore either. She started dancing and singing like a crazy person but I appreciated it. I wish I could have joined her, but I had to stick to my plan in order to get more studying in. I do miss our Suite 18 dance parties. After my shower it was tea time. We were all kind of losing our minds over the tests tomorrow. Thankfully a sweet soul asked to have our test put back on Friday where it was originally supposed to be and just have a lecture tomorrow. That plan was approved so we all felt instantly better and the crazy came out. Since we didn't have as much studying to do tonight, there was a lot of joking and laughter that quickly filled the room. For some reason the yearning to watch past makin' music shows overcame some yahoos. I hate watching them and I can't stand makin' music but I can't help but watch the train wrecks. After I couldn't take it anymore, I studied a little more for the Bible test (but mainly just goofed off). It was the day of silly because I laughed a little more than usual today despite the stresses. Maybe I am getting a hang of this 'not caring as much about schoolwork' thing haha. Now to spend some time with God and His Word. Not having worship on Wednesdays is a big bummer so I try to listen to past lessons when I can to fill my cup. Having access to a church family and to devotional opportunities is something to appreciate. Don't take that for granted!
Fun Facts: the toilets here don't have handles, most have a big button and a little button (depending on the amount of water required). Very efficient. Our free travel itinerary was approved and it was called "beautiful." Go us. I will be going to Annecy, France for a couple days and then Galway, Ireland for the rest of the remaining time.
