One last breakfast in the beautiful Keble College dining hall. (that seems like years ago now) We took as much food as we could for the multiple train rides ahead of us. The dining staff was extra nice today and made sure we had everything we needed. I'm pretty sure everyone that works there goes to Oxford so that is extra interesting to be served by smarty pants. We packed our things, turned in our keys, and waved goodbye to Oxford University and its 38 colleges. We walked the thousand mile trek back to the train station. okay 20 minute walk. Our first train was about an hour and we were supposed to have seat reservations and Paddington station messed up so we didn't have any reservations. Most of our group had to stand the whole time. Luckily, I had a seat. yay. We reached Paddington and had to buy a one way ticket to King's Cross Station. From there we entered the Eurostar and took the Chunnel back to Brussels. While waiting for the Chunnel, we had to get some small snacks for lunch. We did have seat changes for this train but that went smoothly. We also met up with Steve and Marie after their week in London at the Eurostar station. I tried to sleep a little on the train but wasn't too successful. When we reached Brussels, we had to get on another train to Verviers. That was a bit of a fiasco. We weren't really sure where our train was so we kind of ran around that station. Finally we found the right train and we were on that one for about another hour. I again tried to sleep but I don't do well relaxing enough to fall asleep on public transportation. I was exhausted by this point. When we made it to Verviers, we pretty much booked it back to the facility. I think everyone was ready to just be back in one place. We dropped off our stuff and then walked to Pita Fleur. We all got pitas for dinner. They were huge and delicious. Lamb, lettuce, and andalouse sauce in a huge, soft, warm pita bread pocket. Yum. They had some stellar wifi at that place so I talked to Ben very shortly. We walked back to the facility and I quickly did some laundry. After wearing the same outfits for 10 days, I was ready to smell some fresh detergent on those clothes. I also had some tea at tea time. Planned a little more free travel. (almost done!) Had an issue with Google wallet so trying to fix that. Showered. Unpacked and reorganized my life in a suitcase and a shelf next to my bed. Finally, after this long crazy day, I get to sleep. Tomorrow: class. yuck. I miss the good ol' United Kingdom...
Fun Facts: The phone service in the U.K. is vodafone UK. The phone service here in Verviers is Orange B. kind of weird seeing that at the top of my phone. We sleep in bunk beds. I am on the top bunk above Claire.
SHOUTOUT: Judy Leach. Family friend and the sweetest person for sending me such a thoughtful message today! Thanks for thinking of me!
