Europe 2017

Our morning began at 7:15. We had to get ready, pack our bags, pack our lunches, and eat breakfast all before 8. We were leaving at 8:15. Our lunches are usually just sandwiches, chocolate, chips, and a fruit. Today, I chose pickle chips and an orange. We left for the train station and made it in about 15 minutes. Our train was leaving at 8:39, so we had some time to spare. That train was only 20 minutes until Liege. There, we had to wait a little bit, and then we switched to a train to Frankfurt. That was about a 3 hour train ride. That was a bit crazy. It was a nice train and we were told there were no reservations, but then we still got kicked out of our seats somehow. Oh well, we found new seats. The next train was from Frankfurt to Munchen. This was another 3.5 hour train ride. This was even crazier. The train was packed full and every seat was reserved. We probably walked through 5 train cars. We finally found some empty seats. They were still reserved, but we sat in them anyway. No one ever claimed them, so that worked out. I ate my lunch on this train, including the pickle chips. They tasted like barbecue honestly. All of their chips kind of do. I watched Les Miserables for the first time. Don't judge me. I don't have time to watch a lot of movies in my life. I really liked it though. Worth the time. After that train, we had one last long train from Munchen to Salzburg for 1.5 hours. On this train, we first witnessed all the beautiful mountains and valleys and changing colors of the trees and farms. I love the transition from summer to fall. The in between. The green leaves accompanied with the halfway yellow leaves. Some orange trees, some burgundy thrown here and there, just a work of art. I had no idea Austria held such beauty. We saw the West Limestone Alps, a lot of horses, and cute little valley towns too. Once in Salzburg, we took another local train for 5 minutes closer to our hotel. Our hotel looks out to the mountains surrounding the town. Score. It is owned by a Chinese couple so they have a Chinese restaurant in it too. We ate there for dinner. SO GOOD. I LOVE CHINESE FOOD. I got chicken fried rice and it was some of the best I've tasted. I was also starving and that plate was cleared in literally 3 minutes. oops. We also got some dessert, and I ate some ice cream. We hung around for awhile after dinner. Someone started sharing photos over airdrop and that became the dinner entertainment. Sharing the most embarrassing pictures of each other. It was quite a laugh. After dinner, we rented The Sound of Music because Claire had never seen it, and we all wanted to see it before our tour next week. It was great. That movie. Love. We took our showers and went to sleep.

Fun Facts: The Sound of Music is my mom's favorite movie. We all fit in one bed to watch the movie. Except Annah, she chilled in our large windowsill. LOL. We use a random selection app to decide who showers when. It is a pretty good system. I finally fixed my old journal account, so now all my journals are back together again!

Shoutout: It is my Aunt Nelva's Birthday!!! I hope you had a wonderful day! Love you!
