Europe 2017

I slept well until this morning and then I was restless. I kept thinking I was sleeping past the test. I had some cookie speculoos on bread this morning because I think we are running thin on cereal. There were only two boxes out. I made some English Breakfast tea with honey to start my day off with a piece of calm. We started French class promptly at 8:30 and learned about how to tell time and how to say sentences that use negatives. We watched this really strange video of a guy telling time in French and it was just different angles of the same clock for like 10 minutes. It was not the most effective way to learn since I was just laughing at it the whole time. We then studied for Our Western Heritage test until 10. At 10, our death march began. This test was a monster. I have taken worse, and I have taken ones like it, it was just not what I was expecting. We started off with 20 slides of pieces of art that we had to identify their name, dates, civilization, and their significance. That probably took us 30 minutes to complete. Also, we don't really have a real classroom so I was just sitting on the floor in uncomfortable positions trying to write essays about old art. There was also two matching sections that were easy peasy. Then there was a timeline and a map. Those were fine but who knows how they went. The last page were two discussion questions and we will see how those turn out. Immediately after the test we had chapel. It was refreshing after such an exhausting test. We had lunch soon after and we ate a version of beef stroganoff. I was on lunch duty so I had to wash dishes, but we are speedy now so it didn't take long. I was going to try to work on some homework after that, but I felt I deserved a nap so I took one. It was grand. Love my naps. After my nap, I watched some Netflix and then tried to work on homework, but we decided we wanted to watch a movie instead. We tried picking one, but we all have different tastes in movies so we could not come to a decision. We just watched a tv show instead haha. Most of the group went to Aachen to just get out of the facility for a day. I wanted a relaxing day and that it was I got. I like our group, but it is nice when there is only a few of us too. For dinner, we ate a taco soup and it was life. Delicious. I had to wash dishes again and then we watched some more tv. We were going to watch The Patriot at 8:30, but then we just waited until after tea time. We watched about 2 hours of the movie and then called it quits for the night since we have a day trip tomorrow. Hannah and I talked about all the mutual people we know since we both went to the same church camp but didn't really know it. That was pretty humorous.

Fun Facts: I have not left this facility in four days. I may or may not be going stir crazy. But also I have enjoyed the constancy for a bit. There is the street market tomorrow morning right outside our window so that will probably wake us up. We can see into the windows of the homes across the street and it is pretty fun watching them and their pets. Maybe that is creepy, but it is entertaining. This one person really likes to play video games every night. I can't tell what it is, but I know if Kristin was here she could tell me.

Shoutout: Ben's mama gets another shoutout because she had another foot surgery today. Please pray that she will be in minimal pain while she heals! Love you Alison!

The Day of THE Test
