SophieMaree's Travel Adventures

Today is going to be a very long day, I can already feel it! Unfortunately our flight doesn’t leave until 10pm tonight so it means a bit of a “hang about” day for us.

We packed all of our baggage, vacated our room (leaving my favorite boots behind due to them breaking, wah!) & left our luggage at the hotel reception whilst we spent our last few hours in Osaka.

Weirdly enough, we actually haven’t had any breakfast whilst we’ve been here (aside from the quick maccas burger on the run, which were gross by the way) so today, since we have time for a proper sit down meal we’ve decided to give it a try. Along the Universal skywalk they have a cute little restaurant called “Eggs n Things” that we wanted to try so we went there & the food was amazing, like SO so good!

After breaky & causing a bit of hard work at the counter whilst trying to get rid of my thousands of Yen coins, we checked out the last of the few shops along the skywalk for some final purchases before heading back to our hotel. Today is pretty freezing & we are quite exhausted so we didn’t stay out in the cold for too long.

We had about an hour and a half to kill before our long (3hr45min trek to the airport) so we decided to head back into the hotels lounge area to grab a drink and to stay warm. The time went pretty quickly, I caught up on my travel blog, Pete listened to his music & Mum had a nap ha

It took us 3 different trains (including one final bullet train ride) to get to Haneda airport for our flight home. It sounds terrible but it actually wasn’t too bad, even with our heavy luggage! I most definitely will miss the transport system over here, not that I catch public transport at home very often but it’s nice knowing there will be a train every 10 minutes here as opposed to every 40 minutes at home...

We did some final shopping at the airport (buying some amazing smelling perfume in duty free) & had one final meal before boarding our flight home on one of the massive double decker Qantas planes, Yay!!

We’re super sad that our journey in Japan is coming to and end but I am also very happy to be heading home. As much as I love traveling the world (I say this as I am planning my next oversees adventure ha) there isn’t anything quite like being in your own bed, in your own home, surrounded by your favorite foods & your favorite people.

Japan, I entered your world 12 days ago with no expectations of what this vacation would be like and am happy to say that I have been pleasantly surprised in every way. Your country is beautiful, your people are among some of the most polite I have ever met & your food is amazing. The whole atmosphere & vibe of the cities are incredible, I will miss your musical toilets and I most definitely will miss your vending machines (with mini bottles that are perfectly Sophie sized) Arigato Japan.
