SophieMaree's Travel Adventures

This morning we were up super early, packed our bags and got ready to check out. We are headed over to Universal studios today in Osaka for our final leg of the trip. I can’t believe today is our last full day in Japan, it has gone so quickly!

We had to catch 3 different trains to get to Osaka & unfortunately it was during peak time. It’s never an easy feat lugging suitcases around the city & on and off the trains but it’s one of the pitfalls of travel, I guess it can’t all be fab! Ha

I must’ve been taking too long to jump into the final train with my suitcase as one of the Japanese guys behind me forced his hand onto my suitcase & shoved both me & my suitcase right into the back of the train...asshole. At first I thought he was being lovely and helping me lift my suitcase then when I realised he was annoyed & trying to shove me on I was almost in shock....I guess I found the exception to “Japanese people are super nice” he was a down right dickhead and must've known I wasn’t impressed as I ranted about what an arsehole he was on the train...bastard!

Anyhow, we’re off to Universal now and I’m pretty freaking excited!! We found our hotel pretty much straight away after getting off the train. We are staying in Universal City which makes it even more sweeter, again the bright lights and Christmas carols all through the strip - Sophie’s definitely in love here, ah!

We dropped our luggage in the storage at our hotel, purchased our tickets to the park (which were a rip off I might add $225 each!!) then proceeded down the city walk to Universal Studios & it was AMAZING! Sooo much better than the one in California & I freaking loved the one in California!!!

The rides here are incredible & actually freaking scary! The thrill factor has been missing from all of these parks, which I expected would be the case (based off our experience in the US) so when I actually came across a few thrill rides I was bloody beside myself with excitement even more so than before! We went on ALL of them, one of them (The Flying Dinosaur) even had all 3 of us shitting our pants for different reasons - mum cos she’s just not a scary rides kinda person (but I am proud that she actually went on everything and like them...funny that!), Pete cos he realised we’d be soaring through the whole entire ride lying down, literally dangling & me because I could see how high it went but on the incline up and physically being that high off that ground remembered that I freaking hate heights...I literally screamed my lungs out the whole entire ride but it was absolutely amazing. Loved it.loved it.loved it!

The day was freezing & we were pretty exhausted toward the end of the it. Although it's been an incredibly enjoyable holiday it's also been a very fast paced one and we are all absolutely knackered. We went to Hard Rock Cafe along the Universal City wall for our last dinner here in Japan & celebrated the occasion with a few cocktails, then back to our hotel for an early night (we were literally in bed asleep by 9.30pm) Mum & I had hoped to go back to Universal for the night time parade at 8pm but aside from being super tired the rain started pouring and we just weren’t going to sit in the rain for a show again. Luckily we can see Universal Studios from our window but by the looks of things the rain had cancelled the parade so thankfully we didn’t wait around in the freezing cold!
