SophieMaree's Travel Adventures

We woke nice and early this morning to head over to San Diego and unfortunately I woke up feeling like I'd been hit by a train. The full days, lack of sleep and freezing cold nights haven't been helping me out any and I guess this is my bodies way of saying slow down but I don't want to, I'm on holidays!

Today's plan is to head over to San Diego and visit the Navy Marine base, hopefully taking some photos of the ships they have docked at the base currently before heading on over to SeaWorld - I am so pumped.

First a pit-stop into the chemist so I can buy some cold/flu tablets and some cough lollies to keep me going throughout the day. Thank god they worked a treat. By the end of the day I had almost forgotten how rotten I woke up feeling this morning.

We arrived in San Diego and the weather was beautiful, we have been extremely lucky with the weather here so far. No rain and beautiful sunny days, it's just the nights and early mornings that have been freezing but it is Winter over here at the moment so I can't ask for much more than that.

We drove to the Marine Navy base, it was pretty interesting with a ton of Navy ships and Helicopters docked waiting for it's next voyage out to sea. The Marines were walking around also in their full kit which was also pretty cool to see.

We then arrived at SeaWorld and it was awesome!
Pete and I got another one of the VIP passes, it was only an extra $30 each and allowed us to skip the lines at rides, Premier seating at all the shows and free all-day dining. It was more than worth it just for the food and drinks alone as generally you pay a shit ton for food in theme parks. The rides at SeaWorld were awesome and the shows even better.

First up was the Seal show, it was a bit of fun and the seals were super cute. I got some really nice pictures and then as the show ended something splattered on my head. Yep, a bird done a massive shit on the side on my head. I couldn't help but laugh about it as gross as it was but I had spent ages washing my hair that morning as shitty as I was feeling...ahh, they say thats good luck though don't they??

Next was the Killer Whale show and that was incredible.
It has been on my bucket list ever since I was a young girl to come over here and view the Killer Whales. They were just as spectacular as I imagined. The size of them is incredible to see and their

markings are just beautiful. They were flipping and soaring through the water like you wouldn't believe and the splashes they were making as they leaped and spun into the air - oh my god! It would be super amazing to see them out in the wild just doing their thing.

We then saw the Dolphin show which was also great but this time I was sure to sit undercover away from the birds. I'm not so sure being pooped on a second time would be as lucky!

Overall we had a wonderful time at SeaWorld. It was one of the highlights of my trip here so far. Pete and I both have a ton of souvenirs and I am starting to panic about how on earth we are going to fit them on the plane to bring home. We've already bought an extra suit case but it's still not all fitting in..eek.

It is our last night here in LA, crazy that we are already half way through our vacation but we are having an amazing time so far and hopefully the cold and flu tablets continue to help me push through and enjoy this holiday as much as possible.

Were heading to Las Vegas tomorrow with an early start on the 4.5 hour drive over there. I am so excited!

See you over there.
