SophieMaree's Travel Adventures

Today is our second last day here in Queenstown, NZ.

Up bright and early this morning for our Jet Boating Experience. The weather was beautiful though so it meant that with a bit of luck today was going to shape up to be a great day and that it was...surely all our bad luck yesterday had to run out and bring positive vibes today and that it did!

Jet Boating was so much fun, lalaloved it! It was so freaking cold though, if the sun had not been shining i feel like my face may have turned into ice. I highly recommend this to anyone travelling to Queenstown, so much fun and well worth the extra $$$ you spend on it compared to the Jet Boating in say Surfers Paradise you can go on. These guys go much faster, spin much harder and go much closer to the rock walls at 90kmph to the point where you almost hit them - such a buzz if you are a bit of a thrill seeker.

After this we headed back into town for a quick bite to eat before heading up to the Skyline Gondola, again. This time it was open, we purchased tickets to ride the Luge

After this we headed back into town for a quick bite to eat before heading up to the Skyline Gondola, again. This time it was open, we purchased tickets to ride the Luge

which is sort of like a taboggan ride - so much fun and the views from the top on the Gondola are magnificent. Spewing I left my camera at home but I stole Pete's phone and took a few snaps. We had to leave soon after our Luge rides as we need to be on the shuttle bus to the slopes for our twilight Skiing which went from 12pm until 9pm, due to yesterdays lack of luck when it came to the slopes we wanted to make the most out of the beautiful weather today - fingers were crossed that the mountain was sharing the same beautiful weather..(I am hoping to head back up Skyline Gondola tomorrow for the paragliding if we don't run out of time)

We caught the afternoon bus to Coronets Peak for our final day of skiing and thank gosh the weather was incredible. The workers had even said that they were expecting the greatest weather EVER for the night skiing there - our bad luck had well and truly gone!

Night Skiing was the best thing I have done here so far. It was always on my bucket list to do while i was here and I am so glad as a group we got to go and do it, one of the best things I have ever done. The views on the mountain at sunset were incredible and the weather was just perfect, even as the night progressed on it was far from freezing - complete perfection :)

At 9pm we headed back to the apartment for a bit of a chilled out

night, gathering our stuff and packing our bags before we fly out tomorrow afternoon. I am glad most of our stuff is packed now so that we can go out and explore a little more tomorrow before we leave for home in AUS.

This holiday has gone so quickly, as i knew it would. I have had a great time though and as sad as I am that I am going to be leaving tomorrow there really is no place like home. I miss my little kitten, I miss my bed and I miss my pillow - As great as holidays are, it is always a pleasure to return home after a well deserved break also...I am much looking forward to catching up on my sleep though haha

Fingers crossed the weather is great for tomorrow so that we can fit our paragliding in, that would be fab and a few more rides down the Luge wouldn't go astray either ;)

I'll chat to you again on the other side, am hoping the weather in Sydney has been great while I have been away...Am looking forward to a nice sunny day above 15 degrees Lol.
