A super huge hello from the lovely QUEENSTOWN, NEW ZEALAND!!

We left Sydney airport at 8.20am this morning filled with excitement as we headed for Queenstown. We arrived in NZ and boy oh boy is it just as amazing as you would imagine - much like what you see on postcards and on the internet, it's all real and it is amazing to witness. The layer of snow that blankets the mountains on the descent as you fly into Queenstown is just incredible along with the beautiful blue lake that wraps around the whole city is just so magnificent to see first hand..

The flight wasn't too bad, I slept most of the way though as I am not a huge fan of flying so while ever I am out sleeping I figure I will be fine lol

The weather wasn't freezing when we got here, not as cold as i thought it would be I even stayed in the same clothes as i wore when i left Sydney. We went through customs so many times, I kinda got sick of having to keep pulling my passport in and out of my bag to show but I got my passport stamped and they had cute as sniffer dogs waiting in NZ to sniff bags arriving through, they were adorable.

Our accomodation here is quite nice, sitting up on the hill overlooking the whole of Queenstown. The mountains of snow are literally outside our loungeroom, bedroom and kitchen windows, it's fabulous!

We went into town this afternoon to suss out the main strip of shops, bars, hire places etc then had a nice lunch at a place called Devil Burgers - they were yummy. We then headed to the grocery store to buy the essentials to get us through the week, pricing of groceries here are a tad more expensive than back at home but what was super cool was that the price tags in NZ are electronic instead of the ugly paper tags they have in AUS, I thought that was a great idea.

As the cold started to really settle in we headed back home for warmth by the fire place. I took some more happy snaps and then the boys had a rest to recharge their batteries before we headed into town again for our first night out.

We went to this awesome pizza place tonight for dinner, called Winnie's. They sold wood fire pizzas, it was kind of a bar/club and restuarant all in one with pool tables and a dj box it was a really relaxed atmosphere which suited us just fine, the best part though was the roof opens up to let the hot air out every half hour or so, it was AWESOME. We then went to two or three more bars for some drinks before I finally got refused entry due to me leaving my ID at home - oops :/

We're now sitting at the house again, watching tv with the fire place going and planning tomorrows events. Looks like an action packed day ahead of us with Jet boating, paragliding and then some scenic drives into Arrowtown and Glenorchy around the lake front, should be great!

Looking forward too living the life of a Kiwi for a week :)
