Back Down To Earth
The day has finally come. Very surreal that this is really happening! We arrived a couple hours early to the Calgary airport and trudged up and down the new changes to the airport trying to find where we needed to go. Got it on the third attempt and arrived at our gate with lots of time to spare. Really happy to be in a boarding lounge and excited to get going. Just a reminder that nothing will ever really go as planned, so get used to it and deal with it. The kids threw a going away party for me on the 20th. It was a surprise party, which I never really realized the full extent of until it was well on the go. My friends Ted (Oliver), Jake & Karen (Kamloops), and my mother, sister in law and nephew (Sylvia, Wendy, Jared) came from Dawson Creek. The

Canada and beyond
The day has finally come. Very surreal that this is really happening! We arrived a couple hours early to the Calgary airport and trudged up and down the new changes to the airport trying to find where we needed to go. Got it on the third attempt and arrived at our gate with lots of time to spare. Really happy to be in a boarding lounge and excited to get going. rest were more local friends. A bit of a blowout might be the understatement of the year. Very humbling and happy/sad moments were had by all! Sadly I never truly believed I had these friends that would show up to say goodbye to me. I have always told the girls that I didn’t want a funeral when I die because very few will show up. I guess it shows that I have lost touch with too many and need to be better when I get back. What a great night with good friends! Life doesn't get any better.
