Back Down To Earth
Did nothing today but get Katelyn to the airport to head back home. Was a time together between daughter and dad that made us realize we had gone beyond the parent/child relationship. We are best friends! Hard to go off alone when you had so much fun and enjoyed so much in our 9 week trip. Came back to my room after getting her to the 3:45 flight and sat in self pity and utter loneliness. Knowing that the next 10 months will be on my own is hard to face now that it has come to that point. One has to look back and realize why I have decided to do what I am doing. The reasons are complex, but after indulging in a few tears, I was able to reconfirm that what I am doing is right for me. This first stage of the trip was better than I could have imagined and I can only hope that as I head to Russia tomorrow it will continue to become what I hope it will end up being. Thanks Katelyn for making the first stage as great as it was. Time to pick up my feet and go to Russia with the energy and enthusiasm that has got me this far!

Sad Day as Katelyn Goes Home....
