Family Europe Trip, June-August 2018

Our 4 day stay in Dubrovnik has had mixed emotions.

Dubrovnik is a city in southern Croatia fronting the Adriatic Sea. It’s known for it’s distinctive Old Town, encircled with massive stone walls completed in the 16th century.

The day we arrived the weather was a bit dull. Croatia has not been having great weather and it was definitely noticed. We were looking forward to jumping into the sea as soon as we arrived as we have not had a swim for 4 days. It was windy, dark and the sea was choppy. The swim was caned. So we walked more :). The apartment is absolutely gorgeous. It is on top of the hill, so going down into the city is fine but getting back home is another story especially since it is soooooooooo humid. I didn’t dare count the stairs.

We also visited the OLD TOWN. So, off we went to catch the bus. Ok, there we were in the line...until EVERYONE started pushing in as if we were in the middle of the war and trying to escape. As we didn't know the drill at first we slowly drifted towards the bus, and we didn't fit. We waited for another bus to which COSIC’s pushed in and i mean pushed to the door until we managed to get on. Only JUST. It looked crazy and desperate. As the bus was so full the aircon did not work and we were sweating like crazy. We were gasping for air. And when the bus door opened OMG it was heaven...breath everyone!. We walked around the town then his the beach next door.

After 3 days in Dubrovnik i must say we finally enjoyed our day at the beach. The sea was calm, water clear and everyone was happy. The best time to go to the beach was in the morning till about 1-3PM (pending on the weather). Hiring the recliners vary so shop around...from 50 kuna to 120 kuna. Be ware!. It is an expensive town and i think Croatia has many other much more beautiful locations to visit.
