Family Europe Trip, June-August 2018

Leaving Pisa on a high we arrived to Florence today. Wow, it is definitely hectic today or maybe ALL the time. Trusting Sini to choose the accommodation for us i thought “yeah we’ll be ok”. But oh no he booked it in the pure city center with our car going in circles in tiny and very narrow streets. We were fighting with pedestrians who were going in all sorts of direction including blocking the whole road (like people on strike), city bikes and scooters. It was truly a crowded madness. Sini kept saying where the hell did i book this. We also had to fight with blocked roads!!! And on top of this it was hot 39 degress. With no pool or sea to swim in it was HOT. We finally parked the car in the garage after we called the apartment lady who told us the address...ok more circles to be done :). We got to the apartment after 1.5 hrs of circling 1.5 kms :). The location is actually perfect but without the car.
Florence is beautiful, ALOT of tourists, and very busy. Everyday has been very hot and nights don’t cool down alot. Thank god for the air conditioners in our apartment. We are very lucky.

During our 2 day stay in Florence we visited Ponte Vecchio which is the city’s oldest stone arch bridge with stores along the top, Piazza della Signooria - city squire surrounded by Pallazzo Vecchio, Loggia dei Lanzi and other historic buildings (that’s where our appartment is off! So, you can just imagine! Palazzo Pitti - former home of Grand-Dukes of Tuscany houses art, porcelain and costume galleries, Piazzale Michelangiolo - A city square with panoramic views overlooking the city. Loggia dei Lanzi, markets and more.
