Family Europe Trip, June-August 2018

Mavcice...where are Mavcice people asked me. Well, we found the city in Booking.com by chance. The scenery looked fantastic and the accommodation was cheaper. So, here we are! LOVE at first sight. We were in a village surrounded by fields of corn, lots of fruit trees and the smell of cows...yep no sight of cows but you could definitely smell them. The owners were fantastic and very friendly. We ordered breakfast for two mornings and OMG we got home made cherry, mix red fruit and cranberry jam. My favorite was Cherry jam, it was to die for. She also makes her own bread on daily bases and ordered drinkable yogurts from a farm near by. So, if you want to experience village food, smell and surroundings this is definitely the place for you. LOVED it all.

The next day we went to Bohinjsko jezero (Lake Bohinj). We hired a kayak and the four of us paddled trying not to fall out. It was funny. We stopped on the other side of the lake where we parked the kayak and went for a swim. Zak and Luka were jumping of the jetty which had a trampoline attached to it at the end. Well, we have discovered we have a diver in the making. Zak could not stop twisting, turning and jumping.

That night we also met our Slovenian family in Ljubljana in Ruski car pub. The pub was old and had amazing outside area for the kids to run around. Well done to my uncle Marjan and Vera for finding such great place for us to gather and spend a few hours together chatting, laughing and story telling.

Before hitting the road again to Plitvicka jezera (Lake Plitvice) in Croatia we stopped quickly in Ljubljana too meet up with our dear friend Urska, her hubby Bor and their boy Brin. We had coffee, great chat and kids just played in the parkland. Great finish to our Slovenian Holiday trip.
