Family Europe Trip, June-August 2018

Colosseum is an oval amphitheater in the center of the city of Rome, Italy. Built of travertine, tuff and brick-faced concrete, it is the largest amphitheater ever built. The Colosseum is situated just east of the Roman Forum. Construction begun in AD72 and completed in AD 80 under his successor and heir Titus. The Colosseum could hold, it is estimated between 50,000 and 80,ooo spectators having an average audience of some 65,000. It was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles.

There is a lot of history here and very interesting. There is still a lot of work to be done in rebuilding this historical site.

Due to the extreme heat and Zak having a slight heat stroke we had to abandon the site and find more water and shade.
