Today we visited Sagrada Familia. Sagrada Familia is a large unfinished Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi. He was born in 1852 and died in 1926 in a train accident. The construction of Sagrada Familia commenced in 1882 under architect Francisco de Paula del Villar until his resignation when Gaudi took over as chief architect, transforming the project with his architectural and engineering style, combining Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouvea forms. Today the building is still in process of completion and it is anticipated that it will be completed by 2026 - the centenary of Gaudi’s death. This is truly an amazing architectural building. Everywhere you turn it takes your breath away. We highly recommend this experience of this amazing architecture.
In the afternoon we met an amazing couple whom i know since i was born. Danica and Jože are also holidaying here in Spain and it was definitely amazing to see them here with us. Our afternoon was spent together on the beach and dining together. Great end to the day.
We really enjoyed today’s day with Gaudis unbelievable architecture and meeting up with our dear Slovenian friends.
