El Bolsón

The last day in El Bolsón was very sunny, and we decided to use the opportunity to see the city from above. We headed to the refugio Pitriquitron, situated half-way to the peak of the mountain with the same name. After climbing up a steep path we made a stop in the wooden sculpture park.

When we reached the refugio and saw how beautiful it was, we decided to continue a few hundred meters up, towards the peak. The first part of the path was very easy. We walked up and up enjoying the breathtaking news until we found ourselves climbing up the peak. While the mountain is only 2260 meters high, the last part of climbing is very steep and with some icy parts. This is when I discovered what a vertigo is! 50 meters from the top I was almost ready to give up, thinking that at some point I will have to slide down. I made it to the top eventually, but the knees were shaking like crazy, luckily it does not show on the pictures!
