Uruguay - a time travel to Colonia

Urugyuay, Colonia

The so awaited trip to Salta and Jujuy was cancelled due to the extreme floods and we had to follow the plan Z instead - which turned out to be an amazing adventure! We went on a road trip to Uruguay. While being very closely related to Argentina, both historically and culturally, it turned out to be a much calmer country, with flat landscapes full of cows and sheep and overexpensive motorway fees and petrol. The first stop was Colonia, which also

happens to be the most popular destination for the foreign tourists making a one-day boat trip from Buenos Aires to renew the visa and the escape city for love affairs of married people. This city is very small, cozy and full of vintage cars. It has nice views to the ocean which however feels a bit strange for an untrained eye: the water is brown!
