Backpacker.

Day 59
I woke up, had a bowl of rice with two raw eggs in it and a big bowl of Miso soup. After that I thanked the staff who made my stay there so wonderful, took my bag, and went to the train station. I experienced the famous toilets that let you play songs and automatically wipes your butt, it's quite a disturbing experience, really, they are preheated though which is very nice. Anyway.

The train to Osaka was just as convenient as all the others, after 3 hours I was already there and all the trains left the same SECOND as they where supposed to, I'm never going to fully understand how they make this work, but I'm happy they do. When I arrived I was immediately confused, due to the fact that they have more subway stations in this city, than all of Europe has together (that's how it felt). It's not just the tracks that you need to keep track of, there is an entire city under the city. Shopping districts, restaurants, arcades, police offices, all in this underground city. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out how to get my first ticket, which turned

out to be wrong :). I asked the tourist information and went to the right track. Now I'm in Guest House Matzu. They have cheap beds and 2 shibas, I like this hostel a lot.

Osaka is famous for many things, some of them food, and the extreme amount of neon signs in the main entertainment district. They have so many that the city does a decent job of representing one of the Bladerunner movies. I'm going to go out tomorrow when Jon catches up and we will party with "Glico man"!

Day 60
The subway system takes some time to get used to however I now fully understand how to get from the hostel to Namba. This is where I finally had to say goodbye to my broken trekking boots, and buy a new pair of shoes. It is also where I met up with Jon.

We walked around and tried to take it all in, Doutonbori is a lot to take in though. There are so many smells from food, huge signs flashing in different colors, music from every angle and robotic crabs moving around on the walls. We found a nice restaurant on one of the back streets and went in to have some Yakitori. While eating night time had arrived, It was now dark and the district became way more impressive. We spent some more time going through the food and shopping streets before spending the evening at

"American Village" with some of the locals, drinking beer and browsing for cool clothes.

Day 61
Today I met some new people and we went out for sushi. This was hands down the best sushi I ever got. It was made by a restaurant on Doutonbori and the owner is famous for buying the most expensive tuna ever caught. This tuna was purchased for about 3 million dollars and the restaurant is open 24/7. After eating massive amounts of raw fish, I went out on my own with the one goal of finding a big puffy bomber jacket, the japanese people are so insanely fashionable that I thought I had an easy task ahead of me. I didn't. I went through probably 50 different shops, sports shops, second hand stores, different brands but none where puffy enough. and if they where puffy enough they where not the right color. I had walked for 4 hours, before meeting up with Jon and I called him a "nobbit" for being late, a fun british insult, usually applied to a disliked person with a very small penis. I also met up with one of the guys from Hiroshima, randomly on the street and we all went for drinks together.

The bar we first went to was called DOWN. It had an amazing vibe and we met some girls there that ended up hanging out with us for the rest of our night out. We managed to shamble away into the nightclub district and the night went on forever.
