JoAnne and Kevin's Southern Road Trip
During the course of our trip, we had not run across much for special events or festivals ... until today. This weekend, New Orleans is having the 35th annual French Quarter Festival. This is a free event which draws thousands and thousands of people. Music, of course, is the focal point, with 25 stages set up around the area. There are also hundreds of food booths offering every conceivable variation of shrimp, crawfish, grits, beignets, gumbo and jambalaya.
We spent the day walking through the French Quarter and at the festival sites. Dinner was at Arnaud's, a New Orleans favorite since 1918.
