Europe

We awoke to the forecast rain, not heavy but constant. After breakfast I got ready to head to the textile museum leaving Richard in the apartment. I’d found a cafe, Mokxa, that was close to the museum & stopped for a latte, which was really nice, the walk to the museum took me about 50 mins. I so enjoyed wondering through the exhibits, the museum opened in March 1864, the collection has nearly 200 wall hangings, tapestries, costumes & embroideries.
On the ground floor the exhibition traces the history of Lyons silk industry from the beginning of the 17th century to the end of the 19th century, this exhibition was great although all the information was in French which made my life a little difficult. The exhibition on the upper floors including the costumes all had explanations in French & English & the exhibits stretched from Antiquity until the world of today, including three scarfs from the 2010’s donated by Hermes & YSL.
I left the museum after a couple of hours of happy wondering & it was still raining. I got home to a yummy pork & apple baguette, Richard had been for a walk & purchased the baguette. When the rain stopped Richard went for a walk.
