We checked out of our apartment & headed to the metro, we caught the train to Place Catalyna & found the bus stop for the Aerobús. We self checked in for our flight & headed to security, I was taking my toiletries bag on as hand luggage, I’d packed the larger volume items over 100 mls in my checked baggage, when we arrived at security I had to place liquids & gels into clear plastic bags. I had four bags full. When I got through I was told it was only one plastic bag per person, I could have two as I was travelling with Richard. I was sent back through on my own with just the four bags to put into two & throw away anything that didn’t fit in, I was rather annoyed as if I’d known this I would have put more into my checked luggage, I had to throw away a just started toothpaste, suntan lotion, shower gel, body lotion & nail polish remover I’d used once. I went back through only to be told as my plastic water bottle had water in it I couldn’t take that through so threw that away as well. I found somewhere for coffee, which was drinkable & we made our way to the flight only to discover we’d been delayed by 30 mins (on a 1 hour 3 min flight). Richard & I were both moved to the emergency exit rows which was nice. Plenty of snow still on the French alps. We noticed as we came into land a couple of strange shaped planes, I googled & discovered these were the beluga airbuses. We stood at the baggage carousel for ages, my bag had arrived but Richard’s hadn’t, it eventually stopped & we headed over to report this. After completing a form & receiving a tracking number we made our way to the bus stop.
The bus dropped us at Gare Routiere & having only the one bag we walked the 30 mins to the apartment, found the key box & let ourselves in. We headed out to find a supermarket & something for dinner & purchased Richard a new toothbrush & some more toothpaste. We had dinner & Richard watched Netflix, having no book, luckily I was able to charge my phone from Richards laptop, his charger came in his backpack & I had sufficient charge to read my book on Kindle. We checked the tracking website before bed & it still said searching.
