South Africa

The seagulls woke Richard very early this morning, they were very noisy, they are also quite big, I wonder if we will get used to them?
We drove into Ferreira Town a suburb of Jeffery’s Bay approximately 7 kms to the Five Wave Coffee, I hadn’t had a coffee for 2 days (& was fine) so wanted to ensure it was a nice coffee & it was - yum.
We then drove to the shopping centre, Richard looked & found a new book & I had a wonder through the shops, I didn’t purchase anything as I’m conscious I don’t have a lot of luggage weight to play with (about 5 kgs). I looked in Woolworths, which owns David Jones, really interesting that their current range of DJs own label clothing was different to what I can get at DJs in Melbourne. After grocery shopping we returned back to the apartment a different way & discovered a small shop about a 15 min walk away. It’s washing day & i’m pleased to say that the washing machine here wasn’t padlocked, we currently have the washing drying on the stoep, which is really an extension of the lounge room, hope it’s all dry for breakfast!!
Whilst out for a walk we saw a pontoon boat called Lynne, even spelt correctly.
Tonight we have booked at the Marina Wharf restaurant which is just across the other side of the canal, our hosts notes say you can ask for the pontoon boat to collect you but when we did this they said it’s going to Port Elizabeth for 4 weeks, luckily we can walk, takes about 15 mins we believe.

We had a nice dinner at the Marina, the restaurant was very quiet, only us & a couple of other tables. I had a chorizo & seafood paella & Richard some really large Mozambique prawns that were spicy.
On our walk home we thought the couple in front had a couple of dogs with them only to realise what we thought were dogs were a couple of Steenboks, they quickly disappeared into a palm as we got closer.
