South Africa

We left Paarl after breakfast & a stop for coffee at Mountain & Moon.
Richard was very excited to be driving on a toll road which included a tunnel through the Hawequas mountain range. We followed route 62 for most of our journey today & stopped at a lovely town called Barrydale. Through Robertson, a large wine producing area & along the side of the Motroosberg mountain range.
Lots of road works on the route, including a couple that saw us wait up to 15 mins for our turn.
We saw 2 steam trains & cranes erecting a new bridge.
Road works seem to be a very manual process, we passed a number of workers with pick axes, the roads on the whole have been really good.
We arrived at our guest house around 3.30pm & were greeted with a drink (beer for Richard & sparkling water for me). The host was very chatty & was in marketing, he had lived for a time in London including near Egham.
We headed out for dinner to the Karoopot restaurant, we got a bit lost on the way but eventually found it, I had ostrich fillet which was lovely & Richard had a rump steak.
Lovely accommodation at La Pension guest house.
