South Africa

The morning was beautiful so we headed off for a walk along the beach before packing the car, which was lovely.
I decided even though we had to double back on ourselves that 1 last coffee at the Instore Deli & Bakery was worth the 25 min round trip.
We then headed through Paradise Beach to Saint Francis Bay, where we stopped for a walk near the lighthouse & walked part of the 2 bays coastal walk.
We found a nice seat & I spent a pleasant 10 mins or so taking photos of the splash, I took approximately 25 shots, having now deleted most I’m left with 5. We carried on towards Plettenberg & eventually joined the N2 highway before reaching the Natures Valley turn off. What another beautiful drive. I thought there were a few cafes, but in fact there is only 1 pub & 1 trading shop. We had a late lunch (so pleased I decided to have coffee at Instore) & then made our way to Lily Pond Country Lodge.
This accommodation was our 3rd Wedding Anniversary treat and is beautiful, set around lily ponds there are 10 en-suites, ours has an outdoor & indoor shower, a spa bath, a sitting area indoors with a lovely view over the lily pond & gardens & 2 outdoor private seating areas, 1 with loungers & the other with chairs.
We spent the afternoon relaxing & had booked in for dinner.
We had to pre-select a vegetarian or non-vegetarian option & be ready to be seated at 7pm, the 1st course was served at 7.15pm.
It was a lovely meal, with a salad for entree, springboks which we both really enjoyed for main & banana tart (like a tart tartin) for dessert. Set menu & all guests served at the same time.
