Today was the last day in Rome, and probably my favorite day.
First, we wandered through a different part of Rome to find a bakery. I think it was the rich part or something because the houses/apartments here were really nice! All the buildings were golden, orange, pink, salmon, or light brown. I loved all the warm colors. Even the cars here were colorful: blues, reds, and greens! Rome, Italy and Florence, Italy
In France, sometimes I think that black, white, and gray are the only colors because that's what's mostly represented in decor and fashion. When we reached the bakery, I was so happy! It was all decorated for Valentine's day. I ordered a chocolate pastry and a cappuccino. The
guy who made my drink wrote my name on it with chocolate! They were both delicious! So delicious in fact, that I went back and ordered a different chocolate pastry!
After stuffing myself with pastries and coffee, we went to an enormous park called the Borghese Gardens. It was magnificent! There were statues, lakes, huge fields, hills, a museum, a clock tower, a restaurant, and even a zoo! And the weather was in my favor. It was sunny and almost warm outside; something I'd missed because of my cold and wet days in Nantes.
We stopped for a bathroom break in the park's restaurant and got really good hot chocolate. It was creamy and sweet and very, very chocolately.
After wandering around the park for a little longer, we decided to grab lunch. I ordered a pizza that had so much mozzarella, it was probably a crime! It was so cheesy and delicious. I was sad to say that it was our last meal in Rome.
We hung out on the roof garden of our hostel, and waited for our train to Florence. We arrived in Florence pretty late, and went straight to our hostel to find that it was pretty much a hotel.
