Munich is absolutely one of my favorite European cities, and I must return here one day.

I started off my time in Munich on a wonderful bike tour. The people of Munich are very serious about there bikes and will always give a biker the right-of-way, which made me feel a lot safer. I hadn't been on a bike in almost two years, so the idea of a bike tour was quite terrifying to me at first. But, like they say, it's like riding a bike. I was able to see much more of the city this way. I also learned some cool history from my amazing guide. We rode through the center of the city, Court Garden, and then wound up in the English Garden. This was my favorite place in Munich. I just loved the atmosphere! Everyone seemed so friendly and happy. There was just so much to do in this massive park! People were sunbathing naked, playing (and surfing) in the river, and drinking beer and eating good food. This is where I ate the biggest pretzel of my life, the most tender pork ribs, and drank the best beer. Although I couldn't drink as much as I wanted because I had to ride my bike all the way back.

After my amazing meal and tour, I headed back to the center to the city and to a square called Marienplatz. On one side of the square was the huge town hall, accompanied by it's own giant clock tower with moving pieces. It was truly magnificent. Around the square, there were also great shops that sold mouth-watering chocolate.

I ended my night in Munich by going to a Hofbräuhaus. It's a giant hall that serves beer and food and plays traditional Bavarian music.

There was such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, I loved it! And it seemed that most of the people there were actually locals! I asked one of my friends from Munich, and she said that a lot of locals go there regularly!

I ended my way-too-short time in Munich with a full belly, good beer, and fun friends. I was not ready to leave the next day and travel to Austria.
