Nantes, France

These first couple of days alone in Nantes have been rough. Gill left and went back home to California, and I've been trying to find my way around the city and sort through the paperwork that is my life. I've went to three different banks now to open a French bank account, but no where will take me because I am here for less than a year. Luckily, I have an appointment later today at a bank that will supposedly give me an account. I've also tried to register twice, unsuccessfully. The first try was met with difficulty, seeing as how the lady wasn't even there when she was supposed to be. The second try had me running around the city because each place I went said that it wasn't the right place for registration and sent me to a different building. Now that I've finally found the correct building, they are closed this morning, and I have to go back later in the day. Hopefully, by the end of the day, I will be officially registered at the Université and have a functional French bank account. Wish me luck.

PS: I accomplished both of these things on my checklist! I also went to an international student meeting, met a couple of pretty cool people, and had my first legal drink (Long Island Iced Tea)!
