Nantes, France

This was our last day in Italy, so we had to make the most of it.

Early in the morning, we woke up to catch the ferry to Murano, a little island just outside of Venice. They are famous for making glass here, so we were excited to find out more about that. It was a very cute island, but unfortunately, there was not much to do. We walked around and went into a couple of the glass stores, but nothing really opened until about 11 am. However, it was more colorful than Venice and had amazing views of the ocean.

We hopped back on the ferry for Venice and stopped for lunch. I had an amazing seafood pasta. They even put a whole shrimp on it, legs and all! I didn't know how to eat it, so I just ignored it. But at the end, the waiter was a little disappointed that I didn't finish it, and he cut it up for me. I also had tiramisu for dessert.

Venice, Italy

Next, we enjoyed a tour off the beaten path. Our tour took us to some of the less popular spots in Venice. We saw a couple of typically Venetian neighborhoods which were adorable. Then, we went to the Grand Canal for some grand views of Venice. We also got so experience some of the many churches in Venice. Our tour guide also taught us a lot of interesting history, too. Venice used to be it's own nation. Finally, to end the tour, I was lucky enough to ride on a gondola. It was spectacular; I watched the sun go down on the Grand Canal on a gondola in Venice. It was something I'll never forget.

Later, after the tour, we went back to Saint Mark's Square for one more look at the amazing cathedral.

For dinner, we found this cute pasta place. It was takeout, but boy it was delicious! They make the pasta right there in front of you! It was

so thick and dense, but it soaked up the sauce beautifully. This was definitely the best pasta place in Italy! Also, the owners were super nice! They even took a selfie with us.

Unfortunately, this was the end of my trip, and the next morning, we flew out of Venice and back to Paris. This was the most amazing and incredible trip of my life. I'm so glad that I got to make all of these wonderful memories that I will have with me forever. And thanks so much to my friend Nia who put up with me and my obsessive itinerary making! I think our trip to Italy was unforgettable.
