Nantes, France

Today, I went on a small tour of Nantes with the other international students who are studying here. This city is incredible! Before I arrived, I thought that Nantes was a pretty small city, maybe even a town. But after navigating the four tram lines and walking thousands of steps, I've realized I was wrong. This place is huge, not to mention beautiful. We went to a cathedral (astounding in size and grandeur to me, but small and unattractive for Europeans), a castle (that belonged to the Duchess Anne of Brittany and was first built in the 13th century), a shopping mall (one of the oldest shopping centers in France), and an opera house (where the surrounding streets are named after different influential philosophers).

Later that night, we met up again to go to a bar. While it was an hour commute to this place, it was worth it. I had a lot of fun dancing, drinking, and talking to the people I'd met that day.
