Well this should be the worst day of the holiday so far according to Donna's preconceptions but since we saw the strip last night she is quite looking forward to getting out there. Once we get out all previous thoughts are out of the window as she gets really taken with the atmosphere and sense of fun that's all around bouncing off the outrageous buildings and the outrageous characters around you. Soaking it all in and taking pics of all those sights we have only seen on TV we are soon in the swing of things. It is totally normal to walk around drinking cans or bottles of beer, cocktails or anything really nobody bats an eyelid whether you are walking down the sidewalk, in a shop or wandering through a casino, even if you are one of the many girls just in your bikini. We thought we ought to have some brunch before we joined the club so off to one of the numerous food courts and Panda Express caught our eye 2 Entrees and a side each with a Soda for $12 each lovely too..though we were both stuffed after. The architecture is fantastic Luxor does look like areal Sphinx The Eiffel Tower looks fantastic and you can wander between several of the hotels via moving pavements without seeing the sun or venturing outside. Donna spent a whole dollar on the slots in one casino....

Donna spent a whole dollar on the slots in one casino....
She didn't win so that's it for gambling for us lol. In another casino there is a three floor bar called the Chandelier because that is what it looks like from the outside wide on the top floor tapering in to the bottom floor with what is almost a curtain of lights giving the look and feel of a fancy light fitment. It was here we saw the downside of Vegas a guy sat on one of the concourses off of the bar area shoeless lay almost passed out literally peeing his pants through his shorts into a large pool beneath him and he seemed totally oblivious. Well we thought we should join the Vegas club so we thought we'd grab a drink, obviously not pee ourselves. You can buy cans, bottles etc from inside the bars or shops inside the hotel complexes but most aren't priced, or you can cross the strip and you can buy them starting from 99c for a pint can. A simple choice me thinks so I grab a beer and Donna grabs a Kinky.....an alcopop with watermelon and strawberry. To be fair it's pushing 95F so a bit of rehydration is probably a medical must. It's often said you can get anything in Vegas but I wouldn't have imagined this, as advertised on a mobile truck based board that circles the strip, Phone for girls 24/7....and I kid you not the telephone number was 696969!! We continue to traverse the trip visiting many shops and several hotels, New York New York,
Excalibur, Luxor Planet Hollywood to name a few. We ended up watching the world famous Bellagio Fountain Show. The Fountains dance to the Elvis' Hit that shares the title of today's entry throwing water a couple of hundred feet into the air, it was really impressive in the daylight...we can only imagine how it looks all lit up at night. Well we are due to be picked up for our flight at between 8pm and 8.20pm so we need to make a move back to our hotel to have a quick dip in the Jacuzzi bath before getting changed and getting to Tower 1 for our collection. Checking online it's good news from home as Leicester spank Burnley 3-0. Well we were soon at Maverick sipping our complimentary pre flight Champagne. Matt our pilot calls us over and takes us out to the chopper We are sat in the front but together this time. Well Vegas and it's surroundings look fantastically bright against the dark of the night and mountains behind. Luxor shines a beam of light into the sky...at 42.3 billion Candela it's the brightest light in the world and can be seen from space.....not sure that my camera picked it up though lol. Some other interesting facts from the flight 2 of the 3 largest hotels in the world are in Vegas and 20 of the top 25 in the world....alledgedly Vegas has more hotel rooms than Europe!! Well all too soon the flight was over but it was certainly
good. On the way back to our hotel, in the laid on transport, Donna noticed two older Indian guys with 3 much younger girls. She asked me if I thought the girls were paid for, the couple opposite were obviously thinking the same, and it didn't take long before one of the Indian men was admitting it using the old adage "What happens in Vegas...." he didn't say whether he had dialled 696969 but said the girls were expensive to which one of them replied "Expensive but worth every cent!" Vegas is certainly an eye opener. As we are approaching our Hotel Donna asks if I fancy pizza as it was advertised $8 in The Lounge of Tower 1....We were peckish as brunch was at about 12.30 so we ordered...you had to order a drink first so we had 2 bottles of Bud....+the Pizza $28......Would appear the $8 pizza is a happy hour thing but it doesn't say that..... Not going to make a scene though just pay and hope it's tasty. To be fair it was quite nice and another beer to go with it.... from the case of bud we have got in the room. Well considering this was the part of this trip Donna was looking forward to least she is standing out on our 32nd floor balcony staring at the bright lights wishing we had another night here waiting for me to finish this....till tomorrow.
