Pre-Cross Country Road Trip - East to West - Preparation

8/25: Today is the last day of prep before I take the kids and fly home. Today I need to get my blood work done and get an ultrasound of my Urinary System. This includes drinking 32-36 oz of water within an hour (not the hard part), then holding it for an hour and a half to 2 hours depending on whether or not they are running on schedule (this is the hard part). So in order to diagnose why I have this frequent urination issue, they are going to torture me! I guess the anxiety I get from knowing I won;t have easy access to a bathroom also doesn't help. It's funny how knowing what are issues and limitations are actually make it worse. I tend too stress when I know I will be in a situation where access is not as easy as normal (like when I'm at the dentist's office getting a root canal or crown-I went 4 times in the 3 hours I was at the dentists office, probably more out of fear that I would get stuck having to go right in the middle of the procedure so any free chance I got, I went).

Then the other goals for today are: reserve airport parking - done, pick up a crate for Moo Moo and make sure she has a water bowl that is refillable from the outside, switch out the plastic closures to metal bolts, make sure that the crate is adequately labeled with "live" and "this side up" stickers or self printed labels, pack a bag for the three of us and decide if I need to pack an extra bag and pay for checked luggage. I need to make sure I pack any emergency meds for Weeze and treats to keep her busy and figure out how to pack myself some food and entertainment and pills for the plane without having any additional carry on.

I guess the rest of the apartment packing will just have to wait until i get back from this trip. I didn't want to rely on the 4 days I had after I got back before the POD got here, but I guess there is just so much left to pack of my apartment, I will. I wanted to get some extra rest since I will have to get up around 3:15-3:30am to leave by 4 am to drop Moo Moo off at the cargo area by 4:30 am, when they open. In the mean time, I hope I can get her to use the box cause she has just been holding it and I really don;t want her to go in her crate from fear and then have to sit in it for however many hours till I can get to clean it up. I'm hoping that if she doesn't go here, she'll go on the car ride to the airport so I can at least clean her up before I drop her off and she'll be freshly voided for the trip. It's been pretty close if not over 24 hours now that she's been holding it.
