8/10: Here's the skinny for today. It's gonna be short and sweet.
Bunny Bunny: I had questions about Bunny Bunny. I set him free yesterday and I've included a pic. He did not want to get out of the box! The bad news is that since I took Bunny Bunny away from Moo Moo, she went right back out hunting and left the pictured baby bird on Weeze's bed. Even worse news, I get home today from work and walk into my bedroom and notice there's a pretty nasty smell. Moo Moo has her back to me and is clearly licking something, and she's not just cleaning herself. when I walk around to see what she's doing...she's got Bunny Bunny and he's way beyond saving. He's the smell; with his bile

Even worse news, I get home today from work and walk into my bedroom and notice there's a pretty nasty smell. or something black and gelatinous piled up around where he was torn in almost half. No picture of this as I almost lost my dinner (McDonald's summer deal - 6 piece chicken Mc nuggets and small fries for $2.50 - with no purse, no credit or debit cards or ID, I only stuffed $6 from my emergency cash into my purse).
Broken in Subie: Things I learned -
1.) Don't keep more than $20 in my car for toll
2.) Don't keep my purse in my car
3.) Don't keep more than $100 in my wallet
4.) Make sure I empty out my receipts from my purse as soon as I get home
5.) Empty out as much of my car as I can every night - don't leave returns sitting in my car unless I am on my way to return it
6.) Spring for Renter's insurance, I can afford the $126/year
Update: After waiting around all day for an officer to call me back about the car to take a report (I learned that you can no longer walk into a Police Dept and expect to talk to anyone other than the receptionist - all reports are filed over the phone and the officer decides if it's worth the trip to come out and see you, even though there is an officer parked 2 blocks a way just sitting in a parking lot for most nights, and even though the police academy is less than a 5 min walk from my apartment). I called then 5 times yesterday to try to get them to call me back. Apparently if the office "tries" to call you (even though you are sitting by your phone, never missing a call and have other people call you so you know it's working), and you don't answer, the report is closed. You have to call back each time to have them "re-open" it and request that they call you back. So after no one called yesterday, I said "screw it" and got into my car and put everything back to where it should be and went to work this morning. I took my lunch to drive down to the non-existent public police department and got told to call the number. After bothering the receptionist 3 times, I finally left and called the number AGAIN (call #6) and told the lady I would wait in my car at the police dept (since I have no phone reception at work) for the rest of my lunch to see if the officer would call me.....she finally did and I got my report in!!! YAY YAY YAY! Why is it that I feel like I won the lotto and now I can finally close the door on that part of my life? I don't want to think about it or talk about it anymore.
Credit Crard/Debit cards: They have all been notified; my cards cancelled and new ones on the way.
ID: My mom so nicely called DMV for me and they can arrange for my information to be available at the airport so I can get through security to fly home, where I will get my replacement licence and pick up my passport. I would go super early, but I will have Weeze with me and I don't want to subject her or my neck to the carrier for any longer than necessary. i am actually thinking of keeping her unmedicated so she can walk on her own and I won;t actually have to carry her except to get on the plane.
Yesterday: While I waited for the police to call, I spent a few hours going though all my paperwork looking for my certified copy of my birth certificate. I didn't end up finding it, but at least I sorted through most of my paperwork and was able to throw a lot of stuff away (some went to the "to shred" pile). I also actually sat down long enough to turn on the tv and watch a Lifetime channel move and make some desiccant packs for my clothing that is going into storage.
Tonight: I exchanged the blue basket for a black one, cut it and got it installed with the charge controller installed. All I need is some bungee cord to keep it in place and I have a nice platform for more storage. m I also got all of the old hardware on the solar panel mount switched over to the stainless steel 1/4 inch with Nyloc nuts.
Next task for tonight to see if I can get the shock senor unit off of my passenger seat and reinstalled into the car somewhere else so I can re-activate the security system and maybe avoid another car break in.
