8/6: Today was another rough day. Haven't been sleeping much lately. By fitbit's gauge, I've gotten 3.5-4.5 hours of sleep a night for the last 3 nights.
Followed by another rough day at work. At least those are limited, but I will miss working with the Production guys and Procurement girls. I'll miss the rewarding feeling of a job well done; getting the customer's what they want, when they want it. Accommodating the requests from the procurement "Doris's," as the English guy at work calls the girls and making the guys at work happy by heeding their suggestions. I've started working more closely with the shipping girls and she's just great to work with. Had to have one of my impromptu happy hours with my cousin (present in spirit). It was one of our things back in Sunnyvale and San Diego, when ever he needed a pick-me-up. We'd meet at a place with good food and good drinks...the good food for me, the good drinks for him. We never had to go far in Cali for good food. Here, I struggle. The only good place down the street from my place was packed, so I had to go about 15 minutes away for the next decent place. ....Malaysian.
Then I headed over to work on my car. Since I picked up the screws I needed last night for mounting the charge controller and inverter, I started with that project. As it got darker, I had a change to plug my LED lamp into the inverter and get that tested out. I also had to use my drill, so I powered that up with the solar as well. :) I didn't get a chance to go get the inverter mounted before it started raining, so I called it a night after the charge controller got mostly done. I was adding some washers to space out the charge controller from the battery box,so it's not mounted flush against the battery box. I wanted to give the unit some room for air circulation. I remembered the washers after I had already attached the charge controller so I was going back and re-doing it, but only got 2 of the 4 redone with washers as spacers.
Afterwards, I went inside to hang out with some friends. It was his birthday! :)
I also picked up my spare wheel! I had to have it shipped to his house since in order to ship to an apartment, they'd require a signature for delivery. With my work hours, I'd never get a chance to sign for it before they shipped it back! Now I can have one of my old tires mounted on here when I change out all my tires for the road trip and I'll have a full sized spare. Can toss that donut into the storefront like that Discount Tire commercial!
