Pre-Cross Country Road Trip - East to West - Preparation

8/22: I have 4 days left till I should be theoretically packed up............

I gave the coffee maker and blender a test go on the solar system. The Coffee maker did not fare so well, but the blender did! The coffee maker made the inverter beep and then shut off. The inverter is rated for 1600 watts with a peak at 3200? and the coffee maker is 650 Watts? As apparently (this is what my mom told me last night) my aunt would say, "I'll do some homework."

Today's tasks: Get gas, drive out to NJ's REI (about an hour away with a $4 toll, if I want to come back) by the time they open at 10:00am so I can be back in time for Moo Moo's vet appointment at 2:45 pm for her certificate of health. I was able to find Moo Moo's health records and I realized I'm about 6 months late for her Rabies shot. Weeze is on the 3 year plan so I assumed since I vaccinated Moo Moo at the same time, she was on the 3 year plan also. Maybe because she was a kitten and it was her first round of vaccinations, they only give her the year one? Anyways, I am pretty sure I will have to get that done at this specialty ER animal hospital, where I will pay top $$$ to get her vaccinated instead of at the LuvMePet Petco vaccination clinics where I usually go. There is a clinic tomorrow that I could bring her to, but since I need the health certificate and I really don't think I have time to wait hours in line at the clinic, I think the best choice is to pay the extra money to get her vaccinated at the animal hospital. Thank you, Mom, for my penny pinching ways! I have to teach myself not to feel guilty about "wasting" money. It's been a hard battle.....although spending money on other people for things I would not buy for myself, I got that one down, check!

I locked Moo Moo in the house since last night and I can tell she's been itching to get back out there. She keeps looking outside and meowing at me and when I leave to walk Weeze, she hovers by the front door!

I also need to stop by Harbor Freight on my way back to pick up a furniture dolly. As soon as I can get my replacement sleeping mat from REI (is under the 3 inch foam topper to help cushion me some from the wooden frame), I want to disassemble my bed for moving so I can lean it against the wall and give myself more room to stage my boxes for packing/moving. The living room is pretty filled with donation stuff. I have a friend that sells at the flea market so I had set some things aside for him to go through when I meet up with him on Sunday to see if he can sell them at the flea market before I take what he doesn't want to Goodwill. I have a hard time getting rid of stuff when I still see so much value in them. If i can give them to a friend who can make some money from it, it's easier to separate myself from the stuff. After tonight, I can sleep on my car bed (inside my apartment). My car bed and everything else has been in my apartment since the break in. I wanted to store everything inside to minimize the potential for another break in, hence also why the apartment is so cluttered with stuff.

Hopefully after this weekend, I can have the bedroom packed up and the kitchen. I think the kitchen is the room with the most amount of "stuff." I think the bathroom is #2 but i already got that done....yay! :)
