7/27: I am hoping that today will end with the completion of the bed base! Last night I opened up my mattress topper and lit it "air" out to hopefully allow it to fully...inflate? Not sure what the right terminology is. Woke up this morning and it looks like it's at its full 3 inches now! Yay for mattress!
If my bed base is complete today, I can sew up a mattress cover and travel sheets for it tomorrow and maybe by Wednesday I'll have a completed car bed! :)
Tomorrow's toy's: Carbon Monoxide detector, Solar panel kit, cargo nets. Thank you Amazon!! :)
Looks like I've had a small setback to today's planned completion. "Planned completion," sounds like a work term...speaking of work....the setback is that I had to stay late at work today so by the time I eat and go to Home Depot to get the parts I'll need for the completion (since they were closed last night......yes, that's bitterness!), it'll be dark. So I guess I will be delayed by another day. On the bright side, there are plenty of things I can do instead, especially if I choose to take it easy today, it'll give my neck a rest.
On the work note, I've made the decision that since I have so much to do and since I don't want to start my adventure stressed and exhausted, I will be leaving work a week earlier than expected, which will give me a solid 9 more days to pack and prep vs the original 4 days I had planned....now, how do I tell my new boss? I do have my 90 day evaluation tomorrow........but I feel like I should wait until Aug 1st. I have my upcoming endoscopy appt and I need a root canal and crown.
If I wait until Aug 1st to give notice, even if they let me go the same day as I give notice, I'll have medical coverage for both of those procedures. I don't put it past them with their record to let me go on the spot. Which might be a good thing on Aug 1st, but a bad thing on July 28th!
I got a couple more things in the mail today....wonder what they are.... :) Stay tuned for the chapter on goodies!
Today's daily fail: so when I put in my solar panel and hook up the battery storage, I'm planning on putting the battery in the passenger side so it's as far away as possible to my sleeping quarters. I hear/read that batteries sometimes "off gas" during the charging process. If you ask me what that means, I'll shrug! To be safe, at the recommendation of my brother, I plan to keep the windows cracked. . Hence the reason for the rain guards. ... that still have yet to be installed. At least I got the window gasket back in from that fail. So I was trying to be proactive and start getting used to driving and leaving the windows cracked. (I'm the type of person who never opens the widows minus the drive thru or badge through the gate at work.) That's what AC and heater is for! So I left the windows cracked yesterday and last night. ....I didn't know it was supposed to rain! I get up this morning to walk the dog and see that it's rained but I'm not stressed; it wasn't enough rain for me to even notice it was raining. There wasn't lighting or thunder or even the wind that brings in Mary Poppins! I get ready for work and when I get in my car to go to work, I've got little kiddie pools on one side of the car! The leg of my crate had been sitting in the pool and had wicked up the side. .... So my car now smells like damp wood! I tried to dry as much as I could before work. Hopefully the rest dries out, but it's so humid here. Lesson sort of learned. I wouldn't be surprised if this happens again especially since I'm not confident in the effectiveness of my rain guards.
