Today we took a pizza and gelato making class. It was amazing! We were taken to this beautiful Tuscan farm house where some wonderful people taught us how to make pizza and gelato. As soon as we arrived we were given wine and bruschetta and the kids ran around the garden. Our gelato teacher Lavi pulled Reilly aside to help pick veggies for the pizza and herbs that would later be frozen with liquid nitrogen and sprinkled on gelato. Reilly went from running all over the place to following her around and doing exactly what she asked of him. It was amazing.

We moved into the kitchen and learned the science of gelato. Then
we paired up and each group made a different flavor. Reilly and I made chocolate. Penelope and Brian made strawberry. There was also melon, lemon, vanilla and pistachio. As well as a few others I can't remember.
While our gelato chilled we learned how to make pizza. The pizza guys were too much. They were chefs/comedians. I almost don't want to talk about them because I know I can't do them justice. Maybe Brian will write a post all about the pizza guys. We each made a ball of dough (with a lot of help and commentary from the pizza guys) then we flattened our dough and piled on some toppings. The pizzas went into a wood-burning oven and were perfectly cooked in less than 2 minutes. We ate our pizza and enjoyed gelato in the beautiful garden. This was definitely the highlight of my time in Italy.
