I don't care what it's called, there was nothing petite about this hike. According to the trail map it is a 6.8km hike with 400m elevation gain. It was easily 8 miles and 500m elevation gain. Unfortunately the 500m elevation gain was done in 1 mile. I don't know that that's entirely accurate but it was a steep climb. I wasn't sure the kids were going to make it. I wasn't sure I was going to make it. It was like the never ending climb. Of course once we got to the top it was beautiful. You could see for miles. I think we all agreed it was worth the pain but not anything we need to do again.
