Annecy

If you ever get the chance to visit a country on the day it wins the World Cup, DO IT. Watching France win and being a part of the celebration was so much fun. A little scary but mostly super fun. We ended up watching the game in the hotel bar because everywhere else was packed. After the game we went outside to take part in the festivities. My favorite part was everyone jumping into the canal. I really wanted to jump in but it didn't seem like the smartest idea with Penelope and Reilly with us. We went back to the hotel around 9:30 but the celebration went on all night.

Before the excitement of the world cup we walked around the town. It's super cute. Lake Annecy is the biggest attraction. There were tons of people out on the lake and lots of boats.

My biggest regret about the trip to Annecy was that we didn't get to see the start of Stage 10 of the Tour. I got my days mixed up and we ended up being there for the rest day, not the start. We did get to see where everything was set up which was cool. But it sucks that we are so close and are going to miss it.
