River Hike

When I was dreaming about this vacation, today is exactly the day I had in mind. We had a lazy morning, went shopping at the Wednesday Market and went for a hike. Just relaxing family time. This was our first visit to the market. It wasn't big but the fruits and vegetables were great. Reilly didn't wake up in time to eat breakfast so he got a hotdog at the market. It was a foot long hotdog inside a baguette. The lady used this big pointy metal stick to make a hole in the baguette and put the hotdog in the hole. It was crazy.

After the market we went for a hike by the river. Usually when I go hiking I try to get to the destination as fast as possible. This probably isn't the most enjoyable way to hike. Certainly not when I'm hiking with Penelope and Reilly. Today there was no destination. We packed lunch and snacks and just started walking. We stopped at a rocky spot in the river and Penelope and Reilly learned how to skip stones. Reilly could have spent hours skipping stones. We walked until we found a good spot to eat and enjoyed a yummy lunch of cheese, bread, salami and cherries. As a surprise after lunch Brian broke out an Oreo chocolate bar. I guess you can't go wrong playing in the river and eating chocolate.
