It was an early 6am start and a quick breakfast so we could take the 7am boat back to Sandakan – only one boat leaves per day. On our way out to the jetty I did get to see a reef shark in the shallow water though! Once we arrived back home, a few of us headed to the orangutan centre. It was a super hot morning – 33 degrees and humid, so none of the orangutans really came out. I went back in the afternoon and everyone was there – so I got some great photos of the juveniles and Mariko and baby Piba. I ran into ranger Dato again. He is trying to learn our names. He asked if he could take a photo of me with his biker friend – he was loving it ha. I think I have a fan...
Lunch was included at the nearby Nature Resort as part of our Lankayan package (they are both owned by the same company) – so we headed over there. I had the sweet and sour fish, which was absolutely incredible. It had a delicious coating – like a Chinese takeaway.
