Second last day of trekking. Today we walked the bird trail to the bird tower and the water cascade. This used to be open to tourists, but the wild orangutans in the area would sometimes steal things from them, or the tourists would try to grab them and take photos, so they made the decision to close it. It was probably my favourite trek so far. We didn't see any birds, but the waterfall bit provided some alternative scenery. We waded in for our group photo, and the water was nice and cool, even through our shoes. It was only 3km, but a lot of the return journey was uphill and I have never sweated so much in my life! I pretty much return home every day soaked, as if we dove into a swimming pool! When I took off my clothes to have a shower a big leech had made its way into my trousers – I knew I'd felt something up there! Sometimes with the sweat running down you and random itchy parts around your body it is quite hard to tell! Luckily he hadn't managed to get anywhere too tricky!
