Working with Pongo

Everyone got a syringe full of vitamins this morning. Beryl was hilarious, as she saw the bowl we were extracting the liquid from and couldn't quite figure out why we weren't spoon feeding her from that, as we had last time. She just kept looking past me to the bowl, but she took the syringe in the end.

Only Chiquita and Beryl came back in today – so it was fairly easy. Although Chiquita did manage to wriggle free from Steph and I, so that was annoying, as it's our first escape for ages and now we have a strike against our name! Jack has finally managed to get the milk bottle back from Chiquita without her putting up a fight! It's a miracle, as she normally makes a big fuss. We tried to take it from her before she had finished yesterday and she snatched it back. When she was done, she tipped the bottle upside down first before handing it over, as if to say: 'there – now it's empty fools!'.

Kacy (a really fluffy semi-wild orangutan) was rolling around in the muddy rain today, pouring mud all over herself. Then when we were washing everyone's feet, we left the tap running for a second and turned around to find Kacy copying and washing her own feet!

Today Amoy was talking about when she used to work on the reception and people would demand their money back if they didn't see enough orangutans. Come on people, I know that might be disappointing, but it's not a zoo! Wouldn't you just think of it as a donation..?
