S & J's Big Adventure

Found there was a Magna Carta exhibition in the Supreme Court Building. That appealed and as there were very few tourists showing much interest we went in.

The exhibition was exceptionally well presented and explains the Magna Carta in plain English, we found it really interesting.

The Supreme Court is the home of the Privy Council which sits in Courtroom 3. I got a bit excited when I realised we were in that very room.

The Supreme Court is the home of the Privy Council which sits in Courtroom 3. I got a bit excited when I realised we were in that very room.

When I worked for Duncan Cotterill in Christchurch, my partner took two cases to the Privy Council and won on both occasions. They are now in Hansard. Yours truly prepared all the documentation so my DNA was already over the bench in this court room. How exciting is that. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it FS.

Another courtroom has been recently modernised and had the most fabulous drapes at the windows. The guide told us that the carpets, drapes, carvings etc had been made in the different countries of the UK. The drapes were made in Ireland. They are screen printed velvet and I just had to take a few close-ups.

After another big day out I went out to Richmond in the evening to meet Maggie and Nigel Randall who I haven't seen for 42 years. What a wonderful reunion. It was fantastic catching up with this lovely couple again, wish we had had more time. Very late night.
