All good things must come to an end!

That's it folks. Today was our last day in Rome and tomorrow morning we make our way to the airport.

After breakfast we walked to the Trastevere neighbourhood. I had heard about it before we left Australia but also our Airbnb host suggested we go. Trastevere is a colourful, funky, bohemian area. It's known for its craft beer pubs and artisan shops. We came across the Piazza Santa Maria, the site of a mosaic-filled church. We walked

the cobblestone streets one last time. Definitely quieter and far less traffic than Rome. There aren't many famous sights to see in Trastevere, it's more about strolling the streets and people-watching in piazzas. After a while we made our way back to our apartment to pack our bags. Taxi was booked for 3:15pm. We are staying our last night in a B&B next to the airport.

We have had an amazing holiday. We have seen so many beautiful places. We have eaten delicious food. Memories that will last a lifetime. We are now ready and eager to get back to some normality and also to hug our fur babies (who we miss so very much).
