San Diego, California, United States

This morning we got up and rented a car so we could make the 40min drive out of San Diego to Carlsbad which is the location of Legoland California. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to go to Legoland in Denmark, so going to Legoland in California was the next best thing (although now that I know some people in Denmark there is still hope that I could make it to the original Legoland in Billund, Denmark).

As soon as we started seeing street signs directing us to the park I started getting excited. As soon as you turn into Legoland Drive you

start seeing Lego models on the edges of the driveway. We got a car park and made our way into the park. My dream had come true I had made it to Legoland.

Straight away we made our way to the minilands, these are some famous cities made out of Lego. The cities include Washington DC; San Francisco; Las Vegas; New York and Hollywood. You can tell the models have been there for a long time because the bricks are very faded but the models were fantastic and it was awesome seeing some of the places I have already seen on this trip made out of Lego.
They also have a Star Wars Miniland which shows famous scenes from all of the movies. One of my favorites was the huge Millennium Falcon.

Just beside the Minilands we made our way along the 'Block of Fame' which is various busts for famous people through time including William Shakespeare, Elvis Presley and the Queen.

We made our way into the next area of the park which was Castle Hill where we went on the Dragon Coaster. As with many themeparks they took photos while you are on the ride. The cool thing about Legoland is one option when you buy the photos is to get it printed onto Lego bricks which you build together almost like a puzzle.

From Castle Hill we made our way to Pirates Bay, most of the rides

here were water related we made our way over to Pirate Reef which is a log flume ride. We could see that you obviously get wet but we were still surprised about how absolutely drenched we got! Luckily it was a hot day so we dried up reasonably quickly.

The next area we went to was Fun Town. Unfortunately most of the rides here were for younger people (how dare Legoland focus on young kids!!!) I had a quick look at the shop to see if there was anything of interest which there was so we revisited the shops later.

Next area was Dino Island where we lined up for the Coasteraurus roller coaster. We noticed that once you get on it you actually get to go around twice. Once we got to the front we went around twice but at the end of the second run the ride attendant hasn't pressed the button so we got to go a third time. It was a pretty good rollercoaster.

By this time we had actually made our way right around Legoland. So we went back and did a couple more of the less interesting rides like the 'Coast Cruise' and 'Fairy Tale Brook' which are just boats going around some various Lego models. We also went on the Technic Coaster which had a pretty large dip in it, but it was very cool. (We actually ended up going on this one three times).

We went and did some shopping (I am now struggling to close my suitcase). I managed to get a few things I have never seen before which is very cool. We left to put everything in the car and returned to the park.

Once back in the park we went to a couple of 4D movie experiences one was for the Legends of Chima theme and one was Clutch Powers. This was also when we redid rides and I also had to find a couple of things to buy which I had seen earlier in the day.

We left about half and hour before the park closed but we had seen everything and been on some rides multiple times so we had fully done Legoland.

I absolutely loved being at Legoland, everywhere you looked you would see some form of Lego model. I really do want to go to some of the other Legoland's around the world, in particular the original Legoland and home of Lego Denmark.

Early morning again tomorrow as we fly to Washington DC via San Francisco. Check in tomorrow where I will be writing from yet another city in America!
