Gavmerica

Today was an early start as David and I got up and went for a run at about 7am. We ran 7.26km along the waterfront past the Team NZ base for the America's Cup and also AT&T Stadium which is home to the San Francisco Baseball team. We did stop at halfway for a hot drink before making out way back. My legs were definitely feeling it as I haven't been out for a run for the last four weeks. I was pretty happy with my pace though, I guess I have been doing a whole heap of walking on this trip so far though.

San Francisco, California, United States

Today was an early start as David and I got up and went for a run at about 7am. We ran 7.26km along the waterfront past the Team NZ base for the America's Cup and also AT&T Stadium which is home to the San Francisco Baseball team. We did stop at halfway for a hot drink before making out way back. My legs were definitely feeling it as I haven't been out for a run for the last four weeks. I was pretty happy with my pace though, I guess I have been doing a whole heap of walking on this trip so far though.

Even though the morning got to an early start I didn't actually get much done. I repacked my suitcase and before I knew it it was time for me to go and meet David and a couple of his work colleagues for lunch. It was good to put faces to the names that I do hear every so often. We had a sushirrito which is sushi in a kind of burrito style. It was pretty good. We went up to a rooftop garden on the Wells Fargo building to eat it and it felt just like being in a park on the ground. Apparently a lot of the buildings in the area have rooftop gardens or public areas where people can got to eat their lunch etc.

After David showed me his office I went on my way to do another free walking tour which started at the bottom of the Transamerica Pyramid. Unfortunately I got a wee bit disorientated and ended up going the wrong way. Once I knew I was late I decided just to head to Fisherman's Wharf where I went to the Rocketboat which is a Jetboat that goes in the bay with rock and roll music and takes sharp turns etc. it was a pretty good ride. I don't think I have ever done a Jetboat before so I can chalk that up as another first. I did a wee bit of shopping for some souvenirs and then headed back to the apartment where we had some tea.

After tea we headed out to do some shopping and apparently reinvent me. So spent a bit of money on some new clothes and shoes, but there is more to come tomorrow. Probably wont be much to report on

tomorrow either so expect another short one tomorrow, but still check in!
