Day 1 - Arrive Los Angeles

Since I wasn't leaving Christchurch until 6.50pm most of the day was spent moping around since most packing was done. Headed to the airport at around 5 since it was a connecting flight. Apparently the link between Christchurch and the USA was broken so they couldn't check me right through, but they did put me on an earlier flight from Christchurch which was good because I spent approximately 50mins in queue at Auckland airport checking in. It's approximately 14 years since I have been on a flight long enough that I should have a sleep, I had forgotten how hard it is to get sleep I prob managed to get at least an hour of broken light sleep. Meals were good and I managed to watch 'you've been trumped' and 'zero dark thirty' and three episodes of 'arrow'.

Anyway enough about the flying got through customs etc without any issues. Once I got into the main terminal I put in my American SIM card which I had to restart twice before it worked and I also

had issues getting money out of the ATM. So for a moment there I was concerned I had no phone and no money.

Got a taxi to my hotel and got checked in, had a look at some guidebooks in my room and decided to go to Madame Tussaud's Hollywood Wax Museum which is beside the Graumans Chinese Theatre. The great thing about the hotel is that it is only a block away from The Chinese theatre. The wax figures didn't look as realistic up close as they do in the pictures. After that I walked up and down the walk of fame a wee bit. I also booked in a couple of tours for the next couple of days which I will talk about over the next couple of days. Other than that I'm going to have an early night since I didn't get much sleep last night and I need to catch a bus at 9am.
