Trip of a Lifetime - Alaska, here we come!

I can’t exactly remember, but I do believe that this was the first morning that we actually had to leave while it was still raining. So, after getting breakfast across the street from the hotel at the A&W, we headed out on the Yellowhead in a bit of a drizzle that continued on and off for most of the morning.

It’s too bad that it was overcast and with low clouds, it made it very hard to actually take part in watching the excellent scenery. We did see a couple of deer, a whole bunch of elk that were just casually chewing away at their dinner right at the main junction into Jasper, and the same herds of goats that we saw on our first trip from Jasper to Hinton were still there – licking up the salt and water along the

Day 27 - Prince George, BC to Entwistle, AB

July 10, 2019

I can’t exactly remember, but I do believe that this was the first morning that we actually had to leave while it was still raining. So, after getting breakfast across the street from the hotel at the A&W, we headed out on the Yellowhead in a bit of a drizzle that continued on and off for most of the morning.

It’s too bad that it was overcast and with low clouds, it made it very hard to actually take part in watching the excellent scenery. We did see a couple of deer, a whole bunch of elk that were just casually chewing away at their dinner right at the main junction into Jasper, and the same herds of goats that we saw on our first trip from Jasper to Hinton were still there – licking up the salt and water along the

highway.

After a stop for fuel and a coffee in McBride, the rain stopped and we were able to thoroughly enjoy the wonderful scenery along the highway. We made a stop at the Timmie’s in Hinton for lunch and then continued eastward – the highway isn’t quite as scenic as it makes it’s way towards Edmonton, but it was still a nice ride.

We had originally booked rooms at the Journeyman Inn in Entwistle, AB for the night, but after getting a bit of a run-around ($50 deposit required for the keys, not associated with Booking.com any more, etc.), we decided to walk down the street and get rooms at the Pembina River Lodge instead. We walked next door to the Riverside Diner & Lounge for dinner.

For the day, we logged a total of 654 kms for a total to date on the trip of 13,742 km
