So, you may be wondering what is with my chapter title today, well that means bye bye Stine as one of the girls from my initial group has left today. It was quite sad as I would say that I have become closer to Stine than anyone else in my group just as she was very grounded, down to earth, and chilled so I am sad to see her go although we are staying in the same accommodation in Cape Town so I will see her again in a week.
Today I was meant to be staying at Kwantu, Katherine needed to pop into town for some shower bits and asked if I would mind accompanying her so I agreed considering it would not cost me anything except lunch which was super cheap anyway - only £10 for a mango, chicken, and avocado salad with 2 alcoholic milkshakes. We arrived in Port Elizabeth around 11.30 so immediately headed towards the beach front to grab our lunch and then walk around the shops; also with us. were Barbara and Stine who were spending the weekend in PE. I thought whilst we were in the supermarket I may as well

I thought whilst we were in the supermarket I may as well
top up on some bits so grabbed sun cream, shower gel and a hair mask as my hair is feeling very dry, I guess because of the humidity. We were told to be back at 'The Lodge' for 14.00 for our ride back which we did but typical Kwantu our lift did not arrive till 17.30 which was annoying as we could have explored some more of the town but oh well, I guess we should just be grateful for the fact we were getting a lift back. Port Elizabeth seemed nice with lots of restaurants, shops, beach and activities so it does make me excited to arrive there on Tuesday when I leave Kwantu although the accommodation was a little grubbier than what I have been used to but still decent especially as I do not have to pay extra for it.
We arrived back around 19.00 as we were in a truck with a load of supplies so it took a lot longer than normal due to the weight and size of the vehicle but thankfully some people had put 2 plates of dinner in the fridge for me and Katherine which we were so grateful for especially as we knew we had missed dinner and were not sure if we would be eating anything tonight; it was nice of the others to think about us. All 12 of the other people who share my accommodation have gone on the weekend excursion, so it means I have the place to myself. I found it quite eerie at first when I walked in as it was so quiet apart from the rain on the roof, but I quickly got used to the idea of having my own space after I put some music on. I do not have to worry about stealing the water
pressure or heat, about being too noisy, about people not liking country music, what others want on the telly, about wearing earplugs or getting woken up by some else in the morning. I am so excited for these 2 nights of peace and quiet! Might be the only privacy I get for the next 6 and half months plus I am not completely alone as Roger the cat is down here with me also enjoying the peace, the only annoying thing is these movement sensitive lights keep switching off as there is no one else moving around whilst I am sitting here doing this. Oh, another bonus is the internet speed has increased as it is no longer under strain so quicker to upload my journal! Downside though to not sharing with anybody is putting after sun on your back is a right pain but I think I can deal with that for the luxury of quiet for the weekend.
Anyway, I am going to go and enjoy the peace with a movie in bed so I will update you all tomorrow on my lone antics.
